Salesforce Technical Lead - Federal Government
We're seeking an experienced Salesforce Technical Lead to join a major Federal Government digital transformation program. This is a key opportunity for a hands-on Salesforce professional to combine deep technical expertise with team leadership - delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality Salesforce solutions that support critical public services.
You'll play a pivotal role in guiding developers, shaping architecture, and driving delivery excellence across a complex Salesforce ecosystem that underpins one of the government's most important digital platforms.
About the Opportunity
Our client is a forward-thinking Federal Government agency leading large-scale digital modernisation initiatives. The program leverages Salesforce as a strategic platform for service delivery and citizen engagement, following modern DevOps and Agile practices to ensure reliability, accessibility, and security.
As part of the Platform Engineering team, you'll work closely with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to design and deliver Salesforce solutions that align with both business goals and whole-of-government standards.
Key Responsibilities
As the
Salesforce Technical Lead
, you will:
- Act as the technical lead for Salesforce delivery, providing guidance and oversight to developers and administrators.
- Design, review, and optimise solutions across Salesforce Sales, Service, Experience, and PSS Clouds, as well as custom applications.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.
- Collaborate with architects, BAs, and delivery teams to translate business needs into robust technical designs.
- Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive quality across all deliverables.
- Support the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and structured release management processes.
- Mentor and uplift technical capability within the Salesforce team.
- Ensure compliance with government security, privacy, and accessibility standards.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
Essential Skills & Experience
We're seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
- Extensive hands-on experience in Salesforce development and solution design, including Apex, OmniStudio, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and declarative tools.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, security model, and sharing rules.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage delivery in complex enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD tools, and modern DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
- Experience working within Platform Engineering or large-scale enterprise technology teams.
- Understanding of government digital service standards and compliance frameworks (security, privacy, accessibility).
