The Sales & Business Development Specialist is considered essential in ensuring Welding Solutions is always front of mind for both existing and future customers for trucks, trailers and spare parts and provides the opportunity for the right individual to help develop a national network.

Position Overview

The Sales & Business Development Specialistis essential to the continued growth of Welding Solutions, and we are currently seeking a very customer-focused team member able to develop new customers, including from your own network and work closely with our existing customers.

The successful candidate will be able to work closely with customers to help them better understand opportunities regarding exactly what they need and what Welding Solutions can offer from initial discussions through to final product delivery. This will be achieved by effectively developing rapport with both new and existing customers and working closely with the broader Welding Solutions team to deliver and surpass customer requirements.

Customer focus is central to the role and if you enjoy understanding the needs of the customer and then being a key part of the team delivering to those requirements then this role could be for you.

Being able to proactively work with external and internal stakeholders is essential to success.

It is expected that the role will include both local and national travel to key potential customer hubs to fully understand customer requirements including the Pilbara, the Goldfields in WA and the East Coast in the future as the customer base is further developed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with parts sales and process orders as required or In the Parts Interpreter's absence.
  • Build account customer base.
  • Conduct regular in-person and telephone sales visits to customers and ensure that the CRM is updated.
  • Constantly seek opportunities to develop and grow new customer accounts as well as maintaining and growing existing accounts for all revenue streams within the business.
  • Deal directly with customers and truck dealers, to manage standard products and specific custom builds.
  • Develop a social media sales and marketing strategy to drive business growth.
  • Develop additional understanding of customer requirements and communicate market intelligence to the Welding Solutions team.
  • Develop new and additional business for new truck builds, tank builds, trailer builds and develop the spare parts sales business to ensure support.
  • Hand-over of new vehicles, including quality control and build rapport with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
  • Identify new opportunities, potential markets and customers for the business through market research, meetings and conversations with existing customers to enable development of greater market understanding.
  • Maintain CRM system and contact information.
  • Meet sales performance goals and KPI'S including monthly sales target, future new sales targets, spare parts support whilst ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare quotes for new builds in a short timeframe based on customer requirements.
  • Support existing and develop new leads for the supply of new water truck/tanks, hot and cold pressure washers' trailers.

Skills and experience

  • Must be self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude with an appetite for constantly considering innovative ways for developing new business.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suit essential.
  • Strong sales ability with extremely high customer focus.
  • Able to help customers better understand exactly what they need and how Welding Solutions can provide it.
  • Able to help convert customer requirements into realistic deliverables from the business with quote preparation essential to success.
  • Proven sales experience working within the Mining and Civil, Truck or Plant Hire industry.
  • Comfortable using and updating the CRM and other programs used in the business and be able to ensure all systems are updated with the latest customer information.
  • Truck salesperson licence preferred.
  • HR licence essential.
