Gidgee Healing is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service committed to delivering holistic, culturally safe health and wellbeing services across the Mt Isa, North West, and Lower Gulf regions of Queensland. As the largest provider of Aboriginal health services by land area in Queensland, we support over 11,000 Indigenous people across 640,000 km².

About the Role

As the Family Wellbeing Manager, you will lead a dynamic, cross-agency team delivering intensive, culturally responsive support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. You will oversee service delivery, staff supervision, referral and intake processes, and foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

This role is pivotal in integrating Family Wellbeing Services with primary care, social health, and maternal and child health services, while ensuring compliance with funding and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a culturally safe and collaborative team environment.
  • Manage referrals, intake, and case allocation processes.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, including clinical support and crisis response.
  • Facilitate team meetings, case reviews, and interagency case conferences.
  • Strengthen referral pathways and maintain service linkages.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and reporting obligations.

What We're Looking For

  • Diploma or higher qualifications in social work, psychology, social sciences, or related fields.
  • Experience working with vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and case management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in inter-professional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical databases.

Practical Requirements

  • Current QLD C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to travel to remote communities.
  • Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain one).
