The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our growing team in Truganina. This role will be responsible for leading and coordinating the design process across electrical and telecommunications projects from concept through to delivery. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent stakeholder management to ensure design outcomes meet client expectations, industry standards, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate the design process across electrical and telecommunications disciplines.
  • Develop and implement design programs, schedules, and deliverables in line with project requirements.
  • Ensure all design outputs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Facilitate workshops and coordination meetings between engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Review and approve design documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proactively identify and resolve design risks, clashes, and constructability issues.
  • Provide design leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including tendering, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in design methodologies and project delivery.
  • Support project managers and construction teams with technical expertise and design solutions

About You

  • 5–8 years of experience in a Design Manager or Senior Design role, within the electrical and telecommunications industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, telecommunications networks, and related services design.
  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary design teams on large-scale or complex projects.
  • Excellent understanding of industry regulations, codes, and compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive leader with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
