About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join BLD Engineers as an Electrical Engineer. As part of our growing team, you will play a crucial role in delivering electrical engineering solutions for Energy projects across Australia. This is a full-time position with regular site visits required.

Available Roles

We are looking for Electrical Engineers with experience in the following areas:

  • Design Engineers: primary or secondary for MV and HV substations

  • Protection Systems Engineer (Design or configuration)

  • Telecontrol Engineer: Integrating and troubleshooting SCADA, Modbus, and IEC 61850 communications

  • Commissioning and Testing Engineer: Knowledge of Omicron required

  • Transmission Lines Engineer: PLS-CADD expertise required

  • Grid connection Engineer: Knowledge of PSSE required

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

Ensure compliance with Australian standards and safety regulations

Support the successful delivery of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects

Interpreting and implementing electrical drawings and specifications

Collaborating with project managers, construction teams and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery

Identifying and resolving electrical issues on site in a timely manner

Conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate safety measures

Completing accurate and detailed reporting

Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer in the construction industry, preferably in the energy sector
  • Experience in High Voltage (HV) substations, SCADA systems, and IEC 61850 protocols.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience in preparation and verification of drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, PowerFactory & Electrical Drafting.
  • Experience in troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Experience in technical documentation and ITP review
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to travel to project sites
