We are currently seeking a highly skilled and reliable excavator operator with proven experience in civil infrastructure works, especially within high-risk environments. If you are motivated, safety-conscious, and thrive in a team-oriented environment, we'd love to hear from you.


About the Role

You will play a key role in supporting our Level 1 electrical infrastructure projects by operating 5.5T and 2.5T excavators in road and footpath settings while working safely around existing underground electrical assets and infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate 5.5T and 2.5T excavators in live urban environments (roadways, footpaths)
  • Perform precise trenching and backfilling around underground electrical assets
  • Assist with cable installation into new and existing conduits
  • Support civil teams with manual excavation tasks when required
  • Ensure excavator and associated equipment is maintained and kept in good working order
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including those of Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy
  • Collaborate with civil and electrical crews to complete projects on time and within compliance
  • Maintain clean and safe work zones around high-voltage infrastructure

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience operating excavators in a civil infrastructure or utility environment
  • Experience working around underground services or electrical infrastructure (essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret service plans is highly desirable
  • Strong awareness of safety protocols in live electrical or utility environments
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and excellent communication skills
  • Capable of performing physical tasks as required
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team

Licences & Certifications

Excavator Operator Licence (essential)

White Card – General Construction Induction (essential)

HR Truck Licence (essential)

Network Passport – Ausgrid / Endeavour Energy (advantageous)

Forklift Licence (advantageous)
