Are you a passionate and qualified music teacher looking for a short-term opportunity to inspire young musicians? We're seeking a Secondary Music Teacher to join our vibrant College community for Term 4, 2025, teaching students in Years 7 and 8.

This 0.2 FTE fixed-term role is spread across three days per week and 6 classes, allowing for meaningful engagement with students while maintaining flexibility. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, values-driven environment and enjoys delivering engaging, student-centred music education. Supply work at the colleges may also be offered.

What You'll Do:

  • Teach classroom music to students in Years 7 & 8, fostering creativity and musical development.
  • Plan and implement effective learning programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
  • Monitor, assess and report on student progress through written reports and parent communication.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the College's co-curricular music program and special events where applicable.
  • Support the Christian ethos and values of our Uniting Church College.

What You'll Bring:

  • A degree in Education and tertiary qualifications in Music.
  • Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
  • Experience teaching music in secondary settings, ideally with vocal education expertise.
  • Familiarity with the Kodály method is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A flexible, student-focused approach to teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to professional growth and curriculum development.
