**THE POSITION**

The Moreton Bay College is seeking a Teacher Aide to work in our Secondary Learning Enhancement Team 2 days per week. This position involves the direct support of students in the Secondary School.

All staff are appointed by the CEO & Executive Principal of MBC and MBBC and they are responsible to him for the over-all performance of their duties.

The CEO & Executive Principal delegates his authority to senior staff members
for the effective management of the College. This role will report directly to the Secondary Learning Enhancement Coordinator.

All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church day school for girls from PP-12.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The Teacher Aide will be required to:

- Work as part of a team together with teachers, administrators and specialist advisors to support students with specific learning needs.
- Work with small groups as well as individual students.
- Assist students with educational activities provided by teachers.
- Contribute to Individual Education Programs for students.
- Attend planning meetings with staff and parents of students with specific learning needs.
- Maintain student anecdotal records for use in reviewing students’ development.
- Provide assistance with administrative duties.
- Care of specialised equipment required by students or teachers.
- Support and encourage students to develop independence.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
- Certificate III in Education Support is desirable.
- Experience working with ascertained children.

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
- Working with Children Suitability Card is essential.
- First Aid Certificate is desirable.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- Office and classroom environments with some travel accompanying students around and offcampus.
- The Teacher Aide is resourced with a desk, computer, a shared prep/classroom.

**CONDITIONS AND SALARY**
- 14 hours per week, Term-time only
- This is a part-time position, School Officer Level 3 as per the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement.
- Sick Leave entitlement of pro-rata 10 days annually.
- Long Service Leave entitlement of pro-rata 1.3 weeks for each year of service, which can be taken after 7 years.
- The College contributes superannuation on behalf of the employee as per the Moreton Bay Enterprise Agreement.
