Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC) is calling for an organised and people-focused problem solver to become the Assistant NETT Manager, supporting our flagship program Nganampa Education Tjitji Tjutaku (NETT) Kunpuntjaku

About us

PYEC is an Anangu-governed organisation overseeing education across the APY Lands in remote northern South Australia. We deliver community-driven programs that support Anangu families and children to stay strong in culture and succeed in learning.

PYEC's NETT Program supports education engagement in eight communities across more than 100,000 square kilometres of desert Country including Iwantja, Kaltjiti, Kenmore Park, Mimili, Amata, Murputja, Pipalyatjara and Pukatja.

This role is about empowering Anangu voices in education and strengthening a team that is deeply rooted in community and culture.

About the role

This is not a desk job in disguise. It is a hands-on, fast-moving, and deeply rewarding support role where no two days look the same.

Working closely with the NETT Manager, you will provide operational, administrative, and cultural support across multiple communities. You will help drive positive outcomes by keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and by working side by side with our incredible team of Anangu Engagement Officers and local leaders.

In this role, you will

• Coordinate day to day program logistics, systems, and staff support
• Track program activities and capture data for clear and accurate reporting
• Help deliver workshops, events, and community meetings across APY communities
• Support staff onboarding, training, and travel planning
• Manage communications between schools, communities, and stakeholders
• Walk alongside Anangu co-workers, building relationships and supporting their work
• Contribute to community planning and share NETT's stories via social media
• Collaborate with other PYEC programs such as ISEP, Junior Rangers, Sports, and FLO

Who you are

You are a natural organiser, a quiet achiever, and a respectful communicator who thrives in dynamic, real-world environments.

You do not need to have all the answers. Just the right mindset, skills, and a genuine willingness to learn and listen.

You will thrive in this role if you:

• Have experience supporting education, community, or youth programs
• Are confident managing admin systems, reports, and digital tools
• Are highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
• Communicate clearly and respectfully across cultures
• Understand or are willing to learn about Anangu culture and languages
• Love teamwork and can also work independently across remote locations
• Have a Working with Children Check, a valid C Class driver's licence, and strong 4WD skills

The travel bit

This role involves regular travel across remote APY Lands communities. You will need to be comfortable behind the wheel of a 4WD, confident on unsealed roads, and have soundjudgment in remote settings. It is not for the faint-hearted, but it is unforgettable.
