- Salary $113,574 to $125,720
About the role
Work part of a collaborative and fast paced team, you'll play a key role in managing the day-to-day administration needs of a busy team.
You will manage a shared mailbox and triage incoming requests for briefings and correspondence and track completions. You will also support the Director with a range of other administrative tasks.
Key accountabilities
- Oversee and coordinate the delivery of administrative and support services by the administrative service staff to ensure the business needs of the team/unit are met
- Monitor and address complex and/or sensitive enquiries and issues, including those that are escalated, to ensure the timely and effective resolutions of issues
- Develop, implement, review and update administrative systems, processes and policies to ensure compliance with agency standards, policies and procedures
- Manage and coordinate the collection and collation of information, prepare reports on business unit performance, and make recommendations to improve efficiency, cost management and service delivery
Key challenges
- Balancing the administrative service needs of unit staff consistently, given the high volume of work and number of staff seeking services from the team, and the need to address ad hoc requests and unforeseen issues.
- The Administration Coordinator will report to the Director Tertiary Policy who oversees skills and higher education policy. You will work closely with a range of colleagues, including the Administration Support Officer and administrative staff in other teams.
Primary purpose of the role
The Administrative Coordinator oversees the provision of administrative and support services to facilitate the delivery of Tertiary Policy to an agreed standard.

About you -
- You'll be using your knowledge of a range of software applications including Microsoft applications (outlook, excel, one note and teams), and TRIM content manager record keeping,
- Alongside this, you'll play an important part in improving our systems and processes.
- This role is ideal for someone who is a quick learner and thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can communicate with clarity and empathy.
- To be successful in this role, you will have experience in coordinating a high volume of requests for briefings and correspondence and tracking progress to ensure on-time delivery.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
