We are seeking a passionate and committed instructional leader for the position of Head of Department - Vocational Education and Training. Central to the role is leading the compliance of VET and vocational pathways at Murrumba State Secondary College and leading the support of learning for students in Years
9 and 10. This position is being offered in a temporary full-time capacity until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Murrumba State Secondary College is located in a beautiful part of Brisbane's northern suburbs, with easy access to the thriving Brisbane City, the relaxing foreshores of Moreton Bay and the endless beaches of the Sunshine Coast.

The College opened in 2012 and has rapidly become the school of first choice in the Murrumba Downs area. Our College features world class learning programs, delivered in impressive and expansive new facilities, and a wide range of innovative learning technologies.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Ensure compliance of internal VET documents for the qualifications on our scope
  • Lead annual internal reviews and audits for the College RTO
  • Monitor and track the completion and attainment of student VET studies
  • Play a leading role in the development and delivery of bespoke programs of learning and support, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 "response to intervention" to meet student learning needs
  • Track and monitor student academic progress in Year 9 and 10, including the College's Junior Certificate of Attainment "Roaring 4 Life"
  • Key stakeholder in the College's support network, focusing on the learning needs of students in Year 9 and 10 and NCCD processes
