The Opportunity

Due to growth in the business, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Group Accountant to join the finance team supporting a diverse group of entities across multiple industries. This role plays a critical part in managing a small finance team and ensuring the accuracy of financial records, reporting and governance processes for all finance operations is maintained to a high standard.

This is a dynamic role with plenty of variety. You'll gain exposure to everything from managing a team, overseeing transactions (banking, AP, AR, credit cards, collections), overseeing management accounts for EOM close, preparation of financial statements and tax returns whilst supporting capital projects for asset management. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, providing insights that really make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

Manage small finance team

Preparing annual financial statements and tax returns for filing and lodgments. Includes managing the annual audit process

Preparing month-end board papers for the Group of entities once review of management accounts closure is completed and reconciliations are signed off.

Preparing year-end financial reports across multiple entities including variance analysis and business review meetings with budget holders

Manage the annual external audit and liaise with external stakeholders as required for the Group

Preparing bank covenant reporting

Manage the annual insurance program across the Group for approval, working with brokers as appropriate

Oversee daily banking, cashflow forecasting, and payments

Oversee all asset registers to ensure they are up to date including physical asset verification processes for EOFY

Ensure coding accuracy in AR/AP and recharge processes for property across all properties in the Group

Administer banking platforms

Ensure processes and financial systems are automated and digitally savvy for efficiency and productivity across the group by working closely with business leaders and software providers

About you

Bachelor of Accounting (must)

Must hold CPA/CA qualification

Proven ability to manage a small finance team

Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting or related field

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems

A sharp eye for detail and accuracy

Someone who's proactive, organised, and able to juggle competing priorities

Strong communication skills, able to liaise across all levels of the organisation

Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
