About The Role
As a
Technical Training Consultant
, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs that enhance the knowledge and skills of our customers, sales teams, distributors, and internal staff. Your expertise will ensure our teams and partners are well-equipped to utilise our products effectively, supporting our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Facilitate Customised Training Programs:
Develop and deliver tailored training programs for various audiences, including creating content and facilitating in-person and virtual sessions. - Assess and Improve Training Effectiveness:
Evaluate training effectiveness, gather feedback, and continuously improve training materials and methods. - Manage External Training Partnerships:
Oversee external training partners and monitor participant progress to ensure high training standards and outcomes. - Maintain and Enhance Product Knowledge and Training Expertise
: Stay current with SMC's latest products, applications, and technical advancements, continuously enhancing product knowledge, application expertise, and training capabilities to ensure SMC is recognised as an industry leader. - Sales Support and Customer Engagement
: Assist the sales team with customer inquiries related to proposal, solutions and visit customers with the team to promote SMC equipment. - Technical and Product Support
: Provide technical, product, and application assistance to sales teams, customers, and distributors, including equipment commissioning and training through on-site or remote presentations. - Marketing and Business Development:
Collaborate with marketing and sales to identify new opportunities, represent SMC at industry events, maintain lead databases, analyse market trends, develop strategies to grow market share, and monitor competitors to strengthen SMC's competitive position.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge of pneumatics and SMC's product portfolio, with experience in developing and delivering effective training programs.
- Possesses excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills to engage learners, manage discussions, and adapt to diverse learning styles.
- Skilled in creating engaging training materials, troubleshooting technical issues during sessions, and delivering both on-site and remote training across various locations.
- Experienced in instructional design, change management, and working effectively across organisational and geographic boundaries.
- Tertiary qualifications (technical) in mechanical, electrical or mechatronic
- Technical Marketing or Business Management qualification will be (advantageous)
