Technical Solutions Manager - Electrical & Renewable Energy

Location:
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

An established market leader in the electrical and trade sector is expanding rapidly into renewable energy solutions. Solar and renewable technologies already contribute significantly to revenue and are among the fastest-growing segments of the business.

We are seeking a highly skilled
Technical Solutions Manager - Electrical & Renewable Energy
to drive technical leadership, customer solutions, and sales growth across residential, SME, and commercial markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise across solar and renewable energy systems, acting as the subject matter authority for customers and the sales team.
  • Translate complex technical specifications into clear, customer-friendly solutions and proposals.
  • Support sales efforts with solution design, demonstrations, and client presentations.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across residential, SME, and commercial clients.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, resellers, and corporate customers.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to support divisional growth strategies.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision of establishing a dedicated renewable energy division.

Ideal Candidate

  • Licensed Electrician or Electrical Engineer with hands-on solar/renewable energy experience.
  • Minimum 8 years in technical and/or sales roles, with at least 3-5 years in solar/renewables.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to bridge technical knowledge with business outcomes.
  • Experience working in developing markets (PNG or similar) highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and customer-focused, with high integrity and drive.
