Ashfield NSW, Australia Rev Bill Crews Foundation Full time $60,000 - $80,000 per year

WHO ARE WE?

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is one of Sydney's most respected frontline charities, serving the community for nearly 40 years. Our mission is to tackle homelessness and poverty by providing essential services like food, social welfare and education support to those in need.

Our Mission: The person in front of us.

All employees and volunteers of The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation are expected to uphold and demonstrate our core values in all work:

  • Hope – encourage people to celebrate life.
  • Integrity – adhering to truth and honesty.
  • Compassion – caring for others with empathy.
  • Safety – protecting the wellbeing of all through vigilance and care.

The Office of Bill Crews is the heart of Rev. Bill's personal mission work. It supports individuals when nothing else is available, addresses systemic issues like poverty, discrimination and mental health and works to create change across generations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Mission Support Coordinator to join the Office of Bill Crews on a full-time basis.

This is a rare and meaningful opportunity to work closely with Rev. Bill Crews — one of Australia's most well-known advocates for social justice — and help bring his mission, vision and priorities to life.

As a trusted coordinator, you'll play a central role in translating his values and direction into clear plans, ensuring effective communication and supporting the smooth functioning of the Office of Bill Crews.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer / Superintendent Minister, you will:

  • Partner with Rev. Bill to develop and deliver strategic mission plans, aligning with the broader goals of the Foundation.
  • Coordinate key projects and initiatives, from concept through to implementation, ensuring they reflect Rev. Bill's values and deliver meaningful impact.
  • Support the daily operations of the Office of Bill Crews, ensuring systems and processes are effective and aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication between Rev. Bill, the executive team, staff, volunteers and external stakeholders.
  • Provide objective advice and analysis to support Rev. Bill's decision-making, prioritising opportunities and managing competing demands.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community partners, government, donors and the public.
  • Prepare briefing papers, reports, presentations and correspondence to support advocacy, stakeholder engagement and strategic action.
  • When required, represent the Office of Bill Crews at meetings, partnerships and public engagements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You're a highly organised, mission-aligned professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You're equally comfortable developing strategy, managing projects, and rolling up your sleeves to make things happen. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Excellent project management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment to support strategic decision-making.
  • Empathy and deep understanding of social justice and humanitarian issues.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Resilience, adaptability and the ability to thrive in an unstructured environment.
  • An awareness of and sympathy with the spiritual dimension of Rev. Bill Crews' work — and a readiness to support and uphold the values of compassion, justice and equality — is essential.

WHY JOIN US?

At The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation, you'll be part of a team that truly cares about people; our staff, our volunteers, our donors, and the communities we serve.

We offer:

  • The chance to create meaningful impact every day.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Health and wellbeing benefits through WHEREFIT.
  • A convenient Ashfield location, close to public transport, with free off-street parking available.

This is more than just a job it's an opportunity to use your skills to change lives.
