Condell Park NSW, Australia Scimita Ventures Full time $80,000 - $115,000 per year

Scimita Ventures is an innovation house that offers a range of technical and commercial services that synchronise together to de-risk and accelerate product development. Founded in 2017, Scimita has a strong track record of delivering scale-up and innovation projects in the energy, materials, and circular economy sectors.

We are currently seeking a Facility Manager with a strong Electrical Engineering background to join our dynamic team and make critical contributions to our scale-up and innovation projects. This pivotal role ensure our project teams have the right equipment, spaces, and prototypes in-hand to successfully achieve their project outcomes.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the ongoing operation, maintenance, and improvement of our facility. Your electrical engineering expertise will help ensure that our R&D and pilot-scale systems are safe, efficient, and compliant, while your practical approach to facility management will keep Scimita's operations running smoothly as we continue to grow.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility systems and utilities, with a focus on electrical infrastructure and equipment reliability.
  • Plan and execute preventive and compliance-based maintenance programs across all facility systems.
  • Provide technical oversight and support for the design, installation, and optimisation of electrical and mechanical systems that support our R&D and pilot-scale activities.
  • Coordinate contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to the required standard.
  • Lead facility upgrade projects, including the specification, procurement, and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS and relevant Australian electrical standards, maintaining all required documentation and permits.
  • Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, identifying opportunities for performance improvement across the site.
  • Contribute to technical documentation such as design files, specifications, and maintenance records.
  • Collaborate closely with project engineers and scientists to ensure facility readiness for scale-up, testing, and demonstration activities.

The ideal candidate for this job will have/be:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (required).
  • 3+ years of experience in facility management, maintenance, or industrial operations.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, building services, and energy management.
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance planning.
  • Familiarity with Australian electrical standards, WHS regulations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Comfortable with work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Experience using 3D modelling software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD would be advantageous.
  • Open minded and able to adapt quickly to new information and stakeholder requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
  • A relevant trades background (e.g. electrician) would be beneficial.

This is a very hands-on role which also requires good interpersonal skills to form relationships with internal and external stakeholders. If this opportunity is of interest and you meet the criteria above, please APPLY or email us directly at

Note: In case of a high volume of applications, we won't be able to reach out to candidates individually. Only suitable candidates will be contacted.
