About the Role:

We're on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Heavy Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of large-scale metal structures and components, working from technical drawings and specs to deliver precision work that meets our high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble heavy steel structures using MIG/TIG/Stick welding techniques
  • Interpret complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
  • Operate heavy-duty machinery such as press brakes, guillotines, and rollers
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and structural integrity
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to WHS regulations
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to meet project deadlines

What We're Looking For:

  • Trade qualification in Fabrication, Boiler making, or related discipline
  • Proven experience in heavy fabrication, preferably in [industry, e.g. mining or heavy industrial environments, Marine Construction]
  • Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and metalworking processes
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or confined space tickets are advantageous
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
