Drillmech is a Western Australian-owned company specialising in heavy equipment maintenance, rebuilds, and fabrication services for the mining and construction sectors. With a growing team and a reputation for quality, safety, and reliability, we're looking for an Operations Manager to lead our fabrication workshop and drive operational excellence.

The Role

As our Operations Manager, you'll take charge of daily operations, ensuring our projects run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll manage production, resources, and people — while also preparing quotes, chasing up opportunities, and maintaining strong client relationships.

A key focus of this role is quality management — overseeing processes, documentation, and reporting to make sure everything leaving our workshop meets Drillmech's standards.

What You'll Do

  • Lead day-to-day workshop operations across production, scheduling, and resourcing
  • Manage and mentor a skilled trades team, fostering collaboration and productivity
  • Prepare and follow up on quotes, building strong client relationships
  • Oversee quality control processes, including documentation and reporting
  • Work closely with other divisions (Mechanical and Machining) to achieve shared team goals
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and Drillmech's Integrated Management System

What We're Looking For

  • Strong fabrication and welding experience
  • 10+ years in a supervisory or management role in a workshop/manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes and documentation
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to prepare quotes and engage effectively with customers
  • Proven track record of resource and people management
