Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is looking for a dedicated and qualified Peer Support & Member Wellbeing Coordinator to lead the delivery of our mental health, resilience, and peer support programs across staff, volunteers and athletes state-wide.

What You'll Do:
- Coordinate and lead the Peer Support Officer (PSO) network across Queensland.
- Provide psychological first aid and on-ground support following critical incidents.
- Develop and deliver training in psychological first aid, peer support, trauma-informed care, and more.
- Develop mental health and wellbeing initiatives, resources, and events.
- Support after-action reviews and incident debriefs with a focus on member wellbeing.
- Partner with Clubs, Branches, and external stakeholders to extend referral pathways.
- Maintain robust governance, risk registers, compliance documentation, and reporting.
- Represent SLSQ in state-wide wellbeing forums and emergency services networks.
About You:
- Current Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain).
- Current open driver's licence.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field: Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Diploma of Mental Health/Counselling with substantial emergency services experience.
- Current professional membership/registration or the ability to obtain (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA/PACFA).
- Experience in critical incident response, psychological first aid, and debrief facilitation.
- Strong facilitation skills and confidence delivering training to diverse groups.
- A collaborative, people-first mindset with a passion for supporting frontline personnel.
- Willingness to travel across Queensland and interstate, and able to work weekends and evenings during peak season and major events.
- Experience in the delivery of mental health/well-being training programs (desirable).
- Experience within an emergency service, lifesaving, sport, defence, or first responder context (desirable).
