About the Role

We're seeking an accomplished
Chief Architect
to lead enterprise-wide architecture strategy and execution within a large, complex transformation environment. This senior leadership position provides vision, structure, and governance for technology direction, ensuring all digital, data, and infrastructure initiatives align with strategic business outcomes.

Reporting to senior technology executives, you'll shape the organisation's future-state architecture, foster innovation across teams and vendors, and influence the roadmap for key investment and design decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and standards that guide technology execution across the organisation.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior leaders, business units, and delivery partners to align architecture with strategic goals.
  • Drive architectural change and transformation across multiple programs, ensuring agility, innovation, and measurable business value.
  • Represent the organisation at cross-industry or inter-agency forums to promote collaboration and shared technology direction.
  • Provide expert advisory input into investment decisions, business cases, risk assessments, and governance forums.
  • Oversee technology roadmaps and capability models, ensuring future demand and investment are strategically aligned.
  • Champion information security, privacy, and data compliance across all architecture activities.
  • Present architecture models and standards to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and influence.

About You

You're a strategic thinker who combines deep technical understanding with strong business acumen. You can operate confidently across both the executive table and technical architecture boards, bridging long-term vision with pragmatic delivery.

Essential Experience

  • Proven success delivering large-scale architecture transformation in complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of aligning technology capabilities with business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with senior leaders and cross-organisation stakeholders, including influence across government or industry forums.
  • Experience evaluating and adopting emerging technologies to drive innovation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills at the executive level.
  • Strong commitment to ethical and professional standards, with demonstrated integrity and compliance.

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field. TOGAF or equivalent certification highly regarded.
  • 10+ years' experience as an Enterprise or Chief Architect, ideally within insurance, financial services, health, or disability-related domains.
  • Proven experience across multi-cloud environments and digital transformation, including UX/CX design and accessibility compliance.
