Our 2000 local experts, backed by our global experience and network of partners, are working to solve the world's toughest challenges in government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection and health markets.
Your New Role and Responsibilities
The Defence Digital Modernisation business line at Leidos is seeking a collaborative and strategic Senior ServiceNow Architect / Strategist to join our supportive team on a full-time basis. Based in either Melbourne or Canberra, this important leadership position will help shape the design, development, and continuous improvement of ServiceNow platform roadmaps across a large and dynamic Defence program.
With a strong focus on enabling digital transformation, the successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the platform evolves in line with business needs and delivers meaningful impact. This is a role where your ability to build trusted relationships and bring others on the journey will be key. Infrequent travel between locations may be required.
Responsibilities
Strategic Platform Leadership: Guide the ongoing development of the ServiceNow roadmap, ensuring it reflects both organisational priorities and evolving technology opportunities.
Architecture & AI Enablement: Design flexible, secure ServiceNow solutions across key modules (e.g. ITSM, ITOM, ITAM); explore and apply AI features such as predictive intelligence and virtual agents to enhance user experience and efficiency.
Analytics & Insights: Support data-informed decision-making through the configuration and adoption of ServiceNow Performance Analytics, delivering clear, actionable dashboards and KPIs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with a range of business and technical teams to understand needs, communicate architectural directions, and support the delivery of enhancements that create lasting value.
Governance & Best Practice: Help build and maintain a strong foundation of development standards, governance, and shared best practices to promote consistency, transparency, and quality across the platform.
About You
You are an empathetic and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working collaboratively and bringing others along in the process. You combine technical expertise with strong people skills and a desire to deliver thoughtful, sustainable outcomes. You will bring:
Demonstrated experience leading the development and implementation of ServiceNow roadmaps in large or complex environments; strong knowledge of Platform Analytics, AI features, and system integrations (REST/SOAP APIs); ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect or equivalent qualifications.
A background in enterprise IT strategy, digital transformation, or cloud platforms; familiarity with Agile delivery and DevOps ways of working; a strategic mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to engage meaningfully with stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
A supportive leadership style, with experience mentoring and empowering others; comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a diverse, high-performing team.
A high level of integrity, adaptability, and professionalism, with a calm and proactive approach to navigating complexity.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline level security clearance and uplift to an NV-1.
