Technician - Laboratory

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic laboratory environment where innovation and collaboration are encouraged. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge research and teaching activities in the Chemical, Materials and Manufacturing Cluster.
Main Responsibilities- Operate and maintain advanced manufacturing equipment, including 3D printers, injection moulding machines, coordinate measuring machine and recycling extruders, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
- Oversee fabrication processes, providing support with 3D printing, silicon casting, including CAD/CAM designing for components, and coordinating external processes such as aluminium casting, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC machining to support teaching and research outcomes.
- Support teaching and research activities, providing technical expertise and support for academic staff and students, including demonstrations and instruction on equipment use.
- Manage laboratory operations, overseeing inventory, procurement, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Proven experience in operating advanced manufacturing equipment, preferably in a laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of CAD/CAM designing and fabrication processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with academic staff and students.
- Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory operations and ensure efficient and safe working practices.
