**Role Description/Criteria**

This role is primarily a technical position with the responsibility of ensuring that all relevant Science and Technologies equipment in the College is functional and fit for the purpose for which it is intended, as well as supporting the Science and Technologies Teaching Staff with a range of practical lessons.

In general, the Science and Technologies Laboratory Technician is responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment and the preparation of laboratory equipment for classroom use. This will occasionally extend to the preparation of laboratory equipment for school event use.

The Science and Technologies Laboratory Technician is primarily responsible to the Principal through the Deputy Principal - Staff and Strategy. However, on a day to day basis they will be expected to seek direction as required from either the Senior Laboratory Technician or the Learning Leader Science and Technologies, to whom he/she reports on a day to day basis.
