About the Role:

We are searching for our next Engagement and Communications Officer to join our fun, dynamic and supportive team. Working within Curtin's Sport and Recreation team, this role oversees the development and delivery of communication and content material across  various media channels. This is a hands-on opportunity that will require you to be actively engaged to seek out, plan, curate, and post compelling content for our platforms. We're looking for someone eager to inspire students to seek an active lifestyle and provide information that enhances their wellbeing experience at Curtin.

This is a great opportunity to utilise your experience to enhance the wellbeing and betterment of our students, staff and community and support our pursuit to make tomorrow better.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive marketing initiatives to promote Curtin Sport and Recreation Services while ensuring a strong brand is established and maintained.
  • Prepare communication and marketing materials (including researching, writing copy, sourcing, and taking photographs) for publishing through relevant channels (Curtin Sport and Recreation's website, social media platforms and e-newsletters).
  • Facilitate the development of key student-facing, community, and internal resources.
  • Assist with the implementation of a range of marketing and promotion strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including students and university associates.

Who we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated digital media skills and experience in the use of web content management systems.
  • Experience using CRM and digital tools such as Active Campaign, Meta Business Suite, Canva and WordPress is highly advantageous.
  • Genuine interest and passion for sport, recreation and physical activity.
  • Professional writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and timely communication materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, students and the community.
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.

Desirable:

  • A relevant degree in communications, public relations and/or marketing with 3+ years' work experience within similar positions.
  • Experience and/or background in a sport and recreation facility.

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
  2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction
  3. This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check
