An exciting opportunity has arisen within the West Moreton Health Nutrition and Food Services team for multiple Food Service Officer positions.

About the role

This position will be located at the new Ripley Specialised Inpatient Services facility, which is introducing a new on-demand Food Service model supported by an Electronic Patient Menu Management System (ePMMS). The purpose of this role is to assist in the provision of a high quality nutrition and food service to patients of the hospital by assisting in the preparation, plating, presentation and delivery of meals utilising effective teamwork as part of a supportive team environment.

Ripley Specialised Inpatient Services is a state-of-the-art facility that will deliver 90 additional beds in West Moreton as part of Queensland Health's Accelerated Infrastructure Delivery Program. The project will deliver a three-storey facility located on Botany Drive, South Ripley. It is located on the Ripley Health Campus and is co-located with the current Satellite Health Centre.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Food service experience or the ability to acquire these skills.
  • Ability to organise tasks in an efficient manner to meet the time requirements of the meal service schedule.
  • Understanding of, or an ability to acquire knowledge of local policy and procedures pertaining to Food Safety and Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and use initiative, work with minimum supervision, communicate and work cooperatively with other members of a multidisciplinary team.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
