We have a role opening for a Spatial Data Officer and the ideal candidate shares our passion for the environment, and has a high level of customer focus and quality orientation. About the role

The role will join our Operational team, and is responsible for supporting the preparation of spatial information and delivery of reports as well as the implementation of projects. The Spatial Data Officer is an entry level role into Lotsearch and provides an opportunity to learn and develop skills and expertise across our key data sources, processes and reports.

Tasks will include:

  • Contribute to the timely production of Environmental reports.

  • Confirming client order details including defining project boundaries in ArcGIS.

  • Communicating with clients and stakeholders in relation to the delivery of reports and services.

  • Research and request additional information as required from government and title searches.

  • Sourcing, cataloguing and geo-referencing of historic maps and aerial imagery.

  • Spatial mapping and quality assurance of environmental records

  • Support the implementation of team & company goals.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Qualification and/or relevant experience in Spatial Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Environmental, or any other related field.

  • Previous exposure to ArcGIS, QGIS and/or an interest in GIS and digital mapping (additional training will be provided).

  • High level attention to detail, spatial reasoning, and an aptitude for technical learning.

  • Excellent time management and ability to work to tight deadlines.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving.

  • Ability to work with integrity, purpose and innovation in a collaborative, social environment.

  • Skills in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

  • Full-time work rights to work full time in Australia for at least the next 12 months.

Experience with Microsoft SQL & Python is highly desirable, but not required.
