Landmark Project Opportunity
The Snowy 2.0 project is a nation-wide renewable energy initiative that aims to deliver reliable power and critical energy storage. As the lead geospatial data specialist, you will be responsible for managing and advancing geospatial data and GIS services to ensure high-quality outputs meet critical project and industry standards. You will collaborate with various teams, including contractors and stakeholders, to innovate data management processes and GIS technologies.
You will take the lead in developing and improving the geospatial data framework, ensuring alignment with project objectives and seamless data integration across teams and systems. This includes overseeing the creation, management and maintenance of spatial data models, geodatabases, and data standards to ensure accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for all stakeholders. Additionally, you will develop and optimize GIS solutions, including web, mobile, and advanced geospatial analysis tools, to support project needs. Collaborating with IT and technical teams to enhance the GIS platform and integrate advanced spatial technologies like 3D modeling and spatial analytics is also key to your role. Ensuring quality assurance and control processes and data governance practices align with industry standards and project requirements will be essential. Furthermore, monitoring, auditing, and streamlining spatial data workflows to improve data quality and visualization outputs will be a significant part of your responsibilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
You should have qualifications in spatial information, surveying, or hands-on experience in geospatial data management. Proficiency in mapping software such as ESRI ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS is necessary, along with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly across teams and engage confidently with both internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where your expertise drives critical project outcomes is crucial.
