**About the role**:
Do you possess a strong commitment and focus on the provision of quality customer service? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Spatial Information Officer to join our friendly and busy Forward Planning team. The primary focus of this position is to ensure the capture of cadastre, planning information and other related geographic information system data efficiently and accurately.

**Duties include**:

- Provide GIS data, maps and reports for internal and external customers;
- Update and validate GIS cadastral information and ensure data is accurate and reliable;
- Create and maintain land acquisition and capital works information in Council's GIS layers;
- Prepare, analyse and manage spatial datasets in particular property, planning and environmental layers;
- Support the delivery of GIS projects and be actively involved in the implementation of projects
- Provide the business unit with informed GIS advice and recommendations;
- Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures and processes;
- Identify and resolve data issues between the GIS and Property Systems
- Identify and assist in the implementation of procedures and processes relating to Council's GIS system;
- Resolve customer phone and online enquiries.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Certificate IV in Spatial Information Systems or Tertiary qualification in Geographic Information Science, Spatial Information Science or similar qualifications in an associated field with minimum two (2) years relevant experience;
- Demonstrated experience with a thorough understanding of ESRI Arc GIS 10 software;
- Good knowledge and understanding of GIS industry standards, techniques, concepts, update of data and management;
- Experience in the use of NSW spatial services digital cadastre databases and their relationship to the Council's spatial datasets;
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, able to provide clear, accurate and concise information, advice and understanding to all stakeholders regarding aspects of the Council's land information database; and
- Strong commitment and focus towards quality customer service.
