About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled 
Technical Business Analyst (BA)
 to join our Financial Crime Technology team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs and technology solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective risk management across Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), Fraud, and other financial crime domains.

This role is ideal for someone with 
5–7 years of experience in business and data analysis
, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across compliance, operations, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams to gather, validate, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to support financial crime detection, investigation, and reporting.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, process flows, and data models.
  • Support the design and delivery of financial crime prevention technology platforms (AML transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, fraud detection).
  • Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, and developers to ensure requirements are implemented effectively.
  • Conduct impact assessments of regulatory and business changes on existing systems and processes.
  • Partner with testing teams to define test strategies, create test cases, and validate outcomes against requirements.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and insights for senior stakeholders to track performance of financial crime controls.
  • Support project planning, prioritization, and delivery in Agile or hybrid project environments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–7 years of professional experience
     in business analysis and data analysis, preferably within financial services or fintech.
  • Strong knowledge of 
    financial crime compliance processes
     (AML, KYC, Sanctions, Fraud) and related technology platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with 
    SQL
     and data analysis to extract, manipulate, and interpret datasets.
  • Experience with 
    data mapping, process modeling, and workflow design
    .
  • Proven ability to work in Agile environments, including writing user stories, managing backlogs, and engaging in sprint ceremonies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., AUSTRAC, FATF, FCA, OFAC) is an advantage.
  • Experience with tools such as 
    JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Power BI/Tableau
     is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 
    financial crime technology platforms
     (e.g., NetReveal, Actimize, NICE, Oracle FCCM, SAS).
  • Exposure to 
    cloud platforms
     (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data engineering concepts.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CBAP, Scrum/Agile) will be highly regarded.
