About the role

Our Finance Systems Transformation Lead is a critical role in leading the financial aspect of the City's ERP Upgrade Project, ensuring that processes, data structures, and system capabilities are strategically aligned to meet current and future business and reporting needs. This includes identifying inefficiencies, redesigning financial workflows and delivering system enhancements for long term scalability, compliance and performance.

A snapshot of your new role:

  • Oversee the end-to-end finance transformation lifecycle as part of a major ERP modernisation program
  • Drive strategic alignment between Finance, IT, and senior stakeholders by leading cross- functional collaboration
  • Lead the re-engineering of enterprise finance processes, identifying automation opportunities, internal control enhancements, and integration points across systems to improve operational efficiency and data integrity
  • Facilitate high-impact stakeholder workshops and project sponsor briefings
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive change management and training strategy
  • Lead the enterprise-wide Chart of Accounts redesign initiative

What you will bring to the role:

  • A formal qualification of accounting, finance, ICT, or related discipline, and demonstrated extensive experience in a similar role (minimum 5 years) and CA or CPA qualified
  • At least 5 years of practical experience of working within a complex ERP system and expertise in improving functionality of the ERP system
  • Experience in ERP system configuration, particularly in areas such as the Chart of Accounts, financial reporting structures, and cost centre hierarchies
  • Proven experience in the implementation and/or management of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Experience in transformation of business systems such as Technology One, Envibe, ProMapp Highly developed critical thinking with a customer focus to delivering outstanding customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, including supporting user adoption, delivering training, and embedding new processes across business units
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear documentation, reports, training materials, and deliver presentations to varied audiences
  • A proactive, strategic, and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to work autonomously, make sound judgments, and contribute to organisational improvement and innovation
  • Sound people management skills to effectively lead, support and develop others, to ensure the achievement of key results
  • Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance.
