About the Role
As an Assistant Manufacturing Manager, you'll support the Manufacturing Manager and play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day production. You'll inspire and guide Team Leaders and Team Members, oversee food safety and quality standards, manage resources efficiently, and help deliver the best doughnuts possible to our customers. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, operations oversight, and process improvement.
What are you responsible for?
- Ensuring the daily production schedule is executed efficiently, accurately, and on time
- Overseeing food safety and cleanliness checks such as QCPs (Quality Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and mitigating risks when issues arise
- Collaborating with Team Leaders to optimise workforce placement and resource use
- Managing staffing levels, sick leave, rosters, and labour budgets
- Leading and participating in daily meetings, team briefings, and performance discussions
- Coaching and developing Team Leaders and Team Members through feedback, on-the-job presence, and training support
- Overseeing administrative duties related to order fulfilment (EBS) and labour/timecard records
- Supporting training programs through "Dough It" (Learning Management System), onboarding, and compulsory modules
- Driving improvement projects in areas like manufacturing efficiency, inventory management, and people capability
- Ensuring compliance with WHS (Workers Health and Safety) and escalating risks or hazards where required

Qualifications & Education
- Food Safety Certificate
- Minimum 3 year in Food Handling and/or Manufacturing Industry
- Minimum 1 year in a managerial position in relevant industry
- Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices and procedures
