About the role

As a Water Cart Operator/Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in supporting the construction operations of JSC Group in Canberra, ACT. This full-time position involves operating water carts and trucks to ensure construction sites are properly maintained and supplied with the necessary materials. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of water and other construction-related goods, contributing to the successful delivery of various projects.

What you'll be doing

  1. Safely operating a water cart to distribute water across construction sites, maintaining optimal moisture levels for compaction and dust suppression
  2. Conducting pre-start checks and monitoring the water cart's condition, reporting any issues or maintenance requirements
  3. Collaborating with the construction team to understand project needs and prioritise water distribution tasks
  4. Maintaining accurate records of water usage and ensuring compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations
  5. Providing support to the wider construction team as required, demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach.

What you require to be successful for the role

  • Valid driver's licence with the appropriate endorsements for operating water carts and heavy vehicles
  • Industry White Card
  • HR truck license
  • An ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • A willingness to work overtime

  • Be able to communicate clearly and timely with Supervisors

  • Experience in operating water carts, trucks, and other construction-related machinery

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the construction team
