An overview of the duties and responsibilities of the Accountant's role

Provide a service whereby Association accounts are monitored, managed and paid in a timely manner

  • Processing of invoices and payroll

  • Record financial data on MYOB system

MYOB job codes to separate finances into different housing programs

develop financial working data in Microsoft Word and Excel

ability to work with formulas linking various excel sheets and MYOB codes

operate Access data base program

  • Maintain staff entitlement and records in MYOB, issue of payslips and entitlements. Addressing staff enquiries

  • Preparation of returns and timely payment for statutory obligations such as BAS, PAYG, FBT, Workcover, QLEAVE

  • Production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the Board which may include financial forecasts and variance analysis as required

  • Recording of general journals as required on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to reflect the requirements of Australian Accounting Standards

  • Maintain and monitor all financial filing system, ensuring information is up to date and accurate.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, taxation legislation, company policies and national regulatory requirements.

  • Fortnightly meeting with CEO to plan, manage and review finance work

  • Coordination and minuting of scheduled Finance and Audit Sub-Committee meetings

Annually – the lead role for preparing interim and year end audits and annual reports:-

  • Preparation of the annual budget and forecasts in conjunction with the CEO

  • Preparation of interim and end of year financial document for audits

  • Develop and/or collate audit documents for external auditor as per request list

  • Engage with Auditors onsite for interim and end of year audit

  • Preparation of financial reports as required for external stakeholders including funding providers

  • Preparation of annual financial statements and provision of relevant supporting evidence

  • Engagement with CEO with Insurance Broker

  • Liaison with funding bodies and other external organisations, as required

  • Management of archive financial folders and files

Other Accountant duties include but not limited to:

- fulfilling the role with professionalism and excellent internal and external communications

  • provide accurate and timely financial information required by the CEO, Treasurer, Board, Auditor.

  • Research and provide financial advice to CEO and the Board as required

  • Financial modelling and participation in special projects

  • Review of Finance Policies, as per policy review schedule, undertake a review of legislation, operational procedures and risk management changes

  • work collaboratively on INCH's Strategic goal and new future opportunities, eg new business activities, new programs, new partners and/or amalgamation of partnerships.

  • Other duties as requested by the CEO

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $63,648.80 – $71,073.60 per year
