ACCOUNTANT - BDS GOLD COAST

We are currently seeking a full time Accountant to be based at our headquarters on the Gold Coast. This role will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects within our company, including the maintenance & management of financial records, accounts, payroll and the preparation of financial reports in accordance with Company policies, Corporate, Legal and Statutory requirements.

About us:

BDS Mechanical Repairs is a privately owned growing business that offers mechanical, auto electrical and welding repairs both in house and onsite with 22 fixed workshop locations throughout Queensland. We have over 160 field service units and the team at BDS cover over 600,000 km2 of Queensland and Western Australia, meaning we're never too far away.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that suitable applicants possess a proven background as an Accountant.

Accountabilities also encompasses the management of Accounts & the development and interpretation of financial reports and financial forecasts. This role will be reporting directly to the Director and Operations Manager.

Duties include / but not limited to:

  • Monthly and year end processing
  • Reconcile, manage and oversee accounts
  • Provide financial advice to stakeholders
  • Prepare ATO reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of data
  • Support accounts staff in all locations
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and profit and loss
  • Cash flow/Budget forecasting & management
  • Prepare monthly financial statement
  • Ensure taxation/Audit & legislative compliance
  • Weekly payroll management

To be considered for this role you'll be:

  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years experience
  • Highly analytical & organized with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge and experience with MYOB Advanced an advantage
  • Strong business acumen & commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills oral & written (Business)
  • Proficiency in all facets of the financial accounting function
  • Hands on with a positive proactive demeanor
  • Experience with Employment Hero payroll software an advantage
  • IT proficient
