What you'll be doing
An exciting professional development opportunity exists for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Nurse to join the greater Gastroenterology Team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) at the Children's Hospital at Westmead. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for Inflammatory Bowel Disease provides an expert level of clinical advice and support to patients, carers and other health care professionals for Children in partnership with the other specialties and other relevant multidisciplinary teams. The CNC2 in collaboration with the specialty teams, is responsible for the development of Models of Care to support the facilitation of the contemporary care of complex patients and evaluates care management practices for patients and families. The CNC utilises current best and evidence-based practices in the provision of care. This position contributes to the development and delivery of clinical specialty related education programs within the specialty areas of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The CNC provides clinical leadership, ongoing development of clinical practice and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services, and participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational development of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease service at CHW. This position is fulltime across Monday to Friday.
