Your Role
The Family Preservation Reunification Response Practitioner (FPRR) will provide a wraparound service to families where children's ages range from unborn to mid-adolescents. This framework will engage parents and their babies/children in order to build capacity as parents and functional families that provide for children's health, safety and development, as well as work towards building self-reliance and sustainability.
This program is child focused and family centred aligning coherently with the Best Interests Case Practice Model. The focus being to improve anti-social and violent behaviour, mental health symptoms, suicidal behaviours and family relationships. Delivery of services will be in the family's home several times per week. The Families will be able to access after hours services should a crisis arise, giving advice on the phone and if required supporting contact into the home
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience in the case management of complex children, youth and families and knowledge of Child Protection statutory requirements. Demonstrated ability to advocate for client needs, influencing decisions in client's best interests.
- Demonstrated understanding of therapeutic intervention underpinned by trauma, attachment theory and resilience.
- Ability to communicate, consult, liaise and negotiate with a broad range of people both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people at all levels to achieve broad project objectives and goals.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation of written reports including case notes and reports with statistical data collected from service delivery reporting.
- Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services
Qualification/s:
A tertiary qualification or equivalent training and experience in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology or related subject area.
Other Screening Requirements:
Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
National Police Check.
