Quality Assurance Coordinator

The QA Coordinator will support all quality and compliance requirements for the business. A key part of the role will also be to manage product assessment and document control for reporting and auditing purposes.

The perfect person for this role will be knowledgeable in fashion accessories, and will keep up to date with all Australian and International standards, as well as industry changes, trends and best practice.

The role is full time based in our office in Alexandria, with parking available on site.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review PP samples and identify tests to be done and send test requests form to the supplier
  • Coordinate with supplier to verify material, fabric information including content
  • Coordinate with testing laboratory on the tests to be done including test completion date
  • Work with suppliers on failed lab tests including resubmission of sample for testing and corrective action
  • Prepare and accurately maintain QA inspection WIP with all style details including lab test  and inspection results
  • Inspect PP and Prod samples for accuracy against artwork, ensuring correct material, trim, construction, measurements, and label placement.
  • Inspect final shipment for compliance against specs, and approved PP samples.
  • Performing AQL inspections for certain retailers.
  • Report product quality issues, and communicate clearly with suppliers including corrective action required
  • Update inspection and lab test results into SAP
  • Inform buying team of any quality or lab test concerns
  • Maintain all samples product, brand and year wise in a methodical manner
  • Perform shipment inspection  on bulk production once arrived at warehouse
  • Manage pre-shipment reports to ensure all quality expectations are met before
  • Support the QA Manager with administrative tasks and department reporting, review lab testing and care labels, and contribute to the upkeep of QA manuals and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar QA/QC role within fashion /apparel or accessories.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accessories,  fabrics, and testing requirements will be an advantage.
  • Experience or knowledge of the AQL inspection process.
  • Knowledge of working on SAP or any similar system (training will be provided)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Design, Production, and external suppliers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving ability.
  • Eager to learn new product categories, systems and procedures
