Contract Quality Assurance Manager - Defence Maritime Domain
Are you a quality-driven professional with a passion for maritime systems and defence-grade engineering? We're seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) to support a high-profile project based at Garden Island.
This is a contracting opportunity within a flagship defence program, offering the chance to work on complex systems that support Australia's maritime capability. Contracting opportunity, highly attractive daily rates working in a collaborative team on one of the largest maritime projects in Australia.
Your New Role:
- Champion quality assurance across bid, project, and product lifecycles.
- Implement and monitor Quality Management Plans aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and internal frameworks.
- Conduct audits, maturity assessments, and risk-based quality reviews.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Manage customer feedback, facilitate root cause analysis (4D/8D), and drive corrective actions.
- Support product certification, declarations of conformity, and release processes.
- Use quality tools for reporting and analysis.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in quality management within systems engineering or defence projects.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality frameworks.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, influencing, and strategic problem-solving.
- Lead Auditor certification (desirable).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory).
- Baseline Defence Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
