Must-Haves:
Minimum 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Engineering.
Strong experience in automation testing (manual testing will not be considered).
Proven ability to write backend tests in Java.
Experience with the Rest Assured framework is a strong advantage.
Experience writing frontend automation tests in JavaScript/TypeScript.
Familiarity with the Playwright framework is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, excellent documentation habits, and adaptability to evolving challenges.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer that will lead the quality assurance automation initiatives that support our web-based merchant portal. They will work within a squad of Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Engineers and fellow Quality Assurance Engineers to shape and drive a culture of high-quality and ensure bug free feature delivery through testing automation and business processes. The quality assurance platform is comprised of the following technologies:
● Rest Assured - Java
● Playwright – Typescript
● Microsoft Azure and Azure Devops
● Github
● MongoDB This role is for a senior quality assurance engineer who is able to lead the quality assurance practices within the squad and work across the technology stack to design and develop both the back-end and front-end test automation features as defined by the product and technology roadmap and ensure the overall quality of the squads deliverables
Key responsibilities
● Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working collaboratively in a cross-functional squad to design & develop strong quality practices
● Lead the design, development and implementation of the quality assurance frameworks for both microservice and UI testing
● Mentor and coach junior quality assurance engineers within the practice
● Accountable for ensuring the testing frameworks within the practice are fit for purpose, flexible and robust
● Create and define a test approach for any given context and within complex testing environments
● Define the standard for and produce high-value test artefacts
● Support software deployment of applications and perform sanity / regression checks either via automation or when required manual testing
About you Essential
● Strong experience in modern quality assurance automation practices and disciplines
● Team player who puts the team's needs first.
● Ability to understand complex feature testing approach and identify testing scope and edge cases
● Good understanding of Agile & Lean delivery principles (Scrum preferred).
● Strong experience with API Automation frameworks such as REST Assured, Karate or Postman
● Strong experience with UI Automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
● Proficient in both Java and Typescript programming languages Desirable
● Experience in performance testing and performance testing tools like Jmeter, Load Runner, etc
● Experience in accessibility testing
● Experience in testing web-based multi-tenancy application
