About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Qualified Bakery/Pastry Cook to join our team at local bakery in Bellara, Queensland. This full-time position will involve creating a variety of delicious baked goods and pastries to meet the needs of our customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and baking a range of breads, pastries, cakes and other bakery items according to recipes and customer orders
  • Ensuring that all baked goods are produced to a high standard of quality and presentation
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work environment in the bakery
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering of ingredients
  • Providing excellent customer service to both retail and wholesale customers
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of bakery operations

What we're looking for

  • Formal qualifications in baking or patisserie, such as a Certificate III in Baking or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a qualified baker or pastry cook, preferably in a commercial bakery environment
  • Excellent knowledge of baking techniques, recipes and food safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality baked goods
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as required
