About The Role
Location: Rockhampton, QLD
Project Phase: Construction Completion / Commissioning / Handover
Duration: 2 months approx. (Flexible roster, e.g,14:7)
Start Date: ASAP
The Completions Engineer/Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and managing all activities associated with project completion, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and handover processes. The role will ensures that all systems and subsystems are properly verified, documented, and accepted in accordance with project requirements, utilizing
PIMS (Omega 365)
for completions management and tracking.
Completions System Management
- Administer and maintain the PIMS (Omega 365) completions database, ensuring data accuracy and traceability of all completion activities.
- Monitor the progress of Mechanical Completion (MC), Pre-commissioning, and Handover milestones within PIMS.
- Generate reports and dashboards for system status, outstanding work, punch list clearance, and handover readiness.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure subsystem definition, tagging, and boundary alignment are correct in PIMS.
Coordination & Interface
- Liaise between construction, quality, commissioning, and operations teams to manage system handovers.
- Support the development and maintenance of system completion packages and dossiers for final handover.
- Facilitate punch list management, ensuring defects are logged, categorized, and closed in line with project priorities.
- Work with contractors and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely completion data entry into PIMS.
Documentation & Quality Control
- Ensure that test packs, inspection records, ITRs, and as-built documentation are properly reviewed and uploaded into PIMS.
- Verify that completion documentation meets client and project standards before system acceptance.
- Participate in regular audits of PIMS data integrity and assist in resolving discrepancies.
Reporting & Progress Tracking
- Provide daily/weekly progress updates on completion metrics (system, subsystem, discipline).
- Support management in planning turnover sequencing and readiness checks.
- Track and report on punch list items and outstanding completions work.
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in completions or commissioning roles on major construction or oil & gas projects.
- Proven experience using PIMS / Omega 365 Completions System (or similar completions management tools).
- Strong understanding of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning processes.
- Familiar with project handover documentation, test pack systems, and certification processes.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Attention to detail with strong data management and reporting capability.
- Experience with multi-discipline construction (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping, Civil).
Desirable Qualifications
- Engineering diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of project lifecycle from construction to commissioning and operations.
- Prior experience working with EPC contractors or client-side completions management.
- Understanding of completions KPIs, ITR processes, and subsystem definition workflows.
