Position Summary
A Brisbane-based opportunity to join a dynamic team within the growing business of Cognizant. Our environment is diverse, utilizing a multitude of technologies and platforms. We are seeking a highly proficient DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. The ideal candidate will bring at least 7 years of relevant experience, coupled with a robust educational background in technology. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The DevOps Engineer will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate workflows, streamline CI/CD processes, and uphold the security and integrity of our systems.

Mandatory Skills

  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, with hands-on experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Skilled in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate resource provisioning and management.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git and platforms like GitHub, for collaborative development and code management.
  • Strong background in implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing, integration, and deployment of applications.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of DevOps best practices including automation, monitoring, and security within cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in fast-paced DevOps settings.
  • Adaptability and willingness to quickly learn and adopt new technologies as required by evolving project needs.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native solutions across sectors such as FinTech, Energy, Mining, and Retail.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Automation and Configuration: Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with tools like Terraform, enabling automated provisioning and configuration of resources. Integrate security best practices into automation workflows, ensuring compliance and safeguarding cloud infrastructure from potential threats.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build, optimize, and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines to streamline code integration, testing, and delivery. Conduct regular reviews of pipeline performance and implement improvements to enhance speed, reliability, and security.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes for efficient scaling and management.
  • Monitoring and Reliability: Set up robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring system reliability and security.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to automate workflows and support seamless application lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues, continuously seeking opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, infrastructure, processes, and deployment procedures.
  • Adoption of Best Practices: Stay updated with industry trends, evaluating and implementing DevOps best practices to drive technological improvements within the organization.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelor of Information Technology (or similar).
  • Experience with Cloud, DevOps tools and platforms.
  • Certification in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure or GCP, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and project management tools.

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $100,000
