About the role

The Communication Officer plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing Central Coast Council's reputation through high-quality communication and public relations efforts. You will be responsible for executing communication strategies that engage both internal and external audiences, ensuring that Council's messages are clear, effective and aligned with the organisation's strategic direction.

This position is required to provide quality service to our internal clients while demonstrating Council's work to our diverse and engaged community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • a Bachelor's degree in communications, media, marketing or a related field, or relevant equivalent experience.
  • extensive experience in corporate communications and/or, public relations, including managing end-to-end communications campaigns.
  • proven ability to provide strategic communications advice in a large, high-profile organisation.
  • experience managing communication projects with clear objectives and competing deadlines.

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $92.9k per annum. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $107.7k per annum on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
  • Two permanent full-time roles are available.
  • This role offers access to a 9-day fortnight.
  • Hybrid and flexible working conditions are available for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite.
  • This role is based at the Wyong Administration Building.

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
