About us

The Bridge Incorporated is a progressive and innovative community-based organisation that provides a variety of support services to individuals with disability as well as young people from disadvantaged backgrounds from various locations in Melbourne's south-east and northern suburbs.

The Bridge operates a Warehouse in Dandenong that has a diverse workforce, with a focus on providing employment opportunities for people with a disability. The Warehouse features numerous process lines on which the team operate and complete various aspects of production.

Opportunity

Role: Permanent Part-Time (27.5 hours per week)

What does the Training and Support Officer do?

The Bridge Employment is seeking a part time Training and Support Officer to provide supervision and direction to Supported Employees in a warehouse setting, to ensure that work tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The position involves providing Supported Employees with on-the-job training to support their journey in achieving their employment goals

Requirements for the role 

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Possess a current and valid full Australian Driver's license.
• Be an effective communicator and have well developed oral and written skills.
• Time management and prioritisation skills.
• Be able to identify Supported Employee's strengths and work with them to improve their capability within their role.
• Demonstrate experience with Behavior Support Plans.
• Experience with 1:1 supports and risk assessment.
• Be able to perform manual tasks of a repetitive nature, as well as work duties involving manual labor such as lifting and standing for long periods.
• Demonstrate effective time management, adaptability as well as computer and administration skills.
• Have experience with disability or community services (minimum Cert IV requirement).
• Ability to work with others to achieve common goals.
