Planning Officer

As the central point of contact for Australia, Planning officer must facilitate all demand and supply planning activities across all Business Units in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesOptimizing Supply Chain Efficiency
- Ensures the right products are brought into the right place at the right time.
- Coordinates inventory levels across warehouses to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
- Plans transportation routes to minimize delivery times and fuel costs.
Inventory Management
- Forecasts demand to align purchasing and stocking requirements and decisions.
- Reduces holding costs by maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Prevents disruptions by planning for seasonal spikes or unexpected demand shifts.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Analyzes historical data and market trends to guide operational strategies.
- Uses planning software to simulate scenarios and prepare for contingencies.
- Helps leadership make informed decisions about expansion, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Ensure maintenance of agreed lead times, minimum order quantities and safety stock settings in SAP
- Manage all Item Master data in SAP relevant to planning & procurement
- Contribute to NPD process, owning the planning & procurement aspects of the process
Coordination Across Departments
- Acts as a bridge between commercial, customer service, procurement, warehouse, logistics, and finance.
- Aligns operational plans with business goals and customer expectations.
- Ensures smooth execution of promotional campaigns or product launches.
Cost Control & Profitability
- Identifies inefficiencies and areas for cost reduction.
- Plans labor and equipment usage to avoid unnecessary expenses.
- Improves service levels while keeping distribution costs in check.
Strategic Growth & Scalability
- Supports long-term growth by planning infrastructure and capacity needs.
- Helps the company adapt to new markets, products, or distribution models.
- Builds resilience against supply chain disruptions or economic shifts.
Non-conformance management
- Review Job7's and follow through to action improvements, addressing areas of sub-optimal performance
- Manage and report all non-conformances, acting on repetitious non-conformances
- Identify and implement changes to ensure a measured reduction in non-conformances and overall operation efficiency gains and continuous improvement initiatives are achieved
General
- Consistently demonstrate Brenntag values and expected behaviors through exemplary standard setting
- Actively participate in the annual Performance, Planning & Review Process (PPM), establishing individual KPIs and monitoring performance to ensure targets and effective work outcomes are achieved
- Take ownership of learning and development opportunities by creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP), strengthening your personal and professional developments.
- Perform such other duties and activities which may be assigned to you from time to time
