Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Motum Simulation Pty. Ltd. Full time $104,000 - $130,878 per year

MOTUM Simulation is the leading Australian simulation company developing its own proprietary technologies in both hardware and software across multiple industry sectors.

We are looking to hire people with experience primarily in Unreal Engine 5 in the position(s) of Game Developer / Software Developer / Digital Artist, who will be responsible for a broad range of development, release, operational and support tasks as part of our development team.  The work involves ongoing creation and expansion of both vehicle assets and their function within expanding environments, to be undertaken with a heavy focus on client needs, in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to MOTUM's policies and procedures.

Why you should join our team:

You will be joining a small, dedicated, professional team that is working together through the exciting phase of early-stage growth. Being early stage, you will need a proven ability to work across multiple disciplines/skill sets with a minimum of supervision. Strong documentation and communication skills and an ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously is essential.

Specific technical skillset and specialities could come from any one of a variety of game development and software development experiences. These include development of environments and dynamic vehicle models within Unreal Engine 5, including Chaos Vehicles, while making heavy use of C++ via plug-ins, with version Control utilising Perforce.

General experience in game development with an emphasis on Virtual Reality applications and a customer centric focus would be advantageous.

Further skills and experience in C#, Arduino hardware and programming, Systems programming, WinForm development, industrial PLC and mechatronics would be beneficial but not essential.  Of benefit also would be an ability to be customer facing for support, training and operational sessions with clients.

What is essential is a sound work ethic and the ability to work across multiple aspects of the project simultaneously and a willingness to "get your hands dirty and get the job done".

We don't let age be a barrier; mature age comes with loads of experience which we value.

You will be joining a driven, passionate, vibrant and welcoming team that's motivated by its culture that emphasizes progress, quality, safety and achieving critical deadlines.  We offer a flexible work environment and value quality results, milestone and gateway achievements significantly over a rigid and inflexible work schedule.

The below list is designed to give you an idea of the core roles you will play.

  • Developing digital assets including environments, vehicles with accurate dynamics capabilities, various in game scenarios, telemetry streams and results outputs and GUI within UE5.
  • Work with the commercial team in the planning, management, execution and implementation of projects.
  • Liaising directly with clients to understand their needs and implement solutions.
  • Assist with the coordination of activities of programming, designing, modifying, and releasing versions.
  • Assist with the planning and conducting of operational, experimental, and environmental tests on pre-release software models and environments.
  • Assist with the planning and timely delivery of released versions of software.
  • Ongoing customer technical support.
  • Ensure project tasks are delivered on time in full and any variations are communicated clearly to the broader team.
  • Continue to analyse, monitor, and improve efficiencies of systems and procedures.
  • Other duties, including the management of experience sessions for our clients.
