Role Description
This is a full-time remote or hydrid role for a Game Developer. The Game Developer will be responsible for game programming, gameplay programming, and implementing object-oriented programming (OOP) principles. The role also involves collaborating with the design team to develop innovative game mechanics and improve existing features.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement core gameplay mechanics for "Word Sus," including game loops, player interactions, and UI systems in Unity (C#).
- Collaborate closely with the team to brainstorm, prototype, and refine new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for a mobile-first experience.
- Optimize the game for excellent performance across a wide range of iOS and Android devices.
- Integrate networking solutions to ensure a smooth and stable online multiplayer experience.
- Identify and fix bugs, ensuring a high-quality, polished final product.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Game Programming, Gameplay Programming, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Strong Game Design skills with a focus on creative and engaging player experiences
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Design, or a related field
- Experience with game development engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus
- Passion for indie games and social gaming experiences
