ABOUT THE ROLE
This position provides administrative support across two key areas: Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs and academic integrity processes. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support our Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs and academic integrity processes. This dual-focus role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to two critical areas of our academic operations.
In the HDR space, the role supports the student lifecycle, including admissions, enrolment, progress tracking, and thesis submission. It involves liaising with students, supervisors, and academic staff to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely communication, while also supporting compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
In the academic integrity space, the role provides administrative coordination for integrity cases, including documentation, communication with stakeholders, and maintaining confidential records. It also contributes to the development and delivery of integrity-related initiatives and reporting.
The position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion. It plays a key role in supporting both student success and institutional compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- HDR Administration activities (including responsible for all research-related administration and research data, research ethics applications, approvals, records and communication with the applicants and researchers.
- Support the administration of the HDR (Higher Degree by Research) programs.
- HDR Records and Data Management and Reporting
- Administer all research ethics and integrity processes, including applications, approvals, and communications with applicants and researchers.
- Support academic staff in implementing the MIT Academic Integrity Policy and processing PAM cases.
- Liaise with the Compliance Manager and Chair of the Ethics Committee regarding academic and research integrity risks.
- Manage research integrity issues for HDR students, including coordination with the Centre for Learning and Compliance Manager.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of integrity cases and ethics approvals
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of the administration of HDR programs at the master's level
- Previous experience and knowledge of Work Integrated Learning theory and practice including the principles of learning and teaching and demonstrated ability to apply these to the development and delivery of workshops, programs and resources.
- Completion of a Tertiary qualification
- Experience in tertiary student academic services in an educational environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Appreciation of cultural awareness and issues relating to the diverse cultural background of the student body
- Customer focus with a passion to assist students
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to provide strong leadership in a multifaceted department
