Position Overview

As an Entry-Level ICT Security Specialist, you will assist in implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures across the organization's information systems. You will work under the guidance of senior security engineers and IT managers to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to start their career in information and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze network traffic for suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and risk assessments.
  • Support the development and enforcement of information security policies and procedures.
  • Respond to basic security incidents and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Help in user training and awareness programs related to cybersecurity best practices.
  • Maintain and update system security documentation.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or appeared in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security principles.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption techniques.
  • Understanding of common cyber threats (e.g., phishing, malware, ransomware, DDoS).
  • Experience with or coursework in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the field of cybersecurity.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

  • Basic understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, or ELK Stack).
  • CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar entry-level certification (or willingness to obtain within 6–12 months).
  • Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $34.00 – $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
