Who We Are
NextGen Jobs is a forward-thinking Group Training Organisation (GTO) dedicated to equipping Australian organisations with a digitally fluent and future-ready workforce. We specialise in apprenticeships and traineeships across high-demand sectors such as clean energy, information technology, advanced manufacturing, health services, and professional services, ensuring alignment with Australia's evolving economic landscape.
Our commitment lies in creating hands-on employment and training opportunities for career seekers. Through tailored programs, we bridge the gap between education and industry, providing real-world training that fosters practical skills and industry readiness.
Position Overview
Reporting to the National Manager–Innovative Programs, you'll support young people across Melbourne as they start their careers through apprenticeships and traineeships.
With the support of an experienced team, you'll identify and connect with businesses across various industries that need apprentices and trainees. From medium to large companies, you'll build strong relationships with key decision-makers to help them grow and strengthen their workforce.
We want you to work strategically, using internal data and marketing initiatives to attract top-quality employer partners.
You will split your time between visiting workplaces, checking in with apprentices, and connecting with businesses that want to provide workforce opportunities. It's balanced with time working alongside our team in the office, coordinating placements and making sure everything runs smoothly.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety – one day, you'll be on-site with a host employer and the next, you'll be mentoring a young person or coordinating placements from the office. It's practical, people-focused work where you'll see the direct impact of your efforts.
What you'll be doing:
-
Mentoring a caseload of apprentices and trainees, ensuring their success in employment and training.
-
Partnering with local employers to create strong, sustainable placements.
-
Visiting worksites to ensure safe, productive environments.
-
Undertaking field administration activities, ensuring Apprentice and Trainee records are maintained.
-
Expanding NextGen Jobs' network of host businesses through community and industry connections.
-
Representing our organisation at local events and industry gatherings.
What you'll bring:
-
A natural relationship builder, confident in engaging with business owners and young people.
-
Highly organised and adaptable, able to switch between fieldwork and office coordination.
-
Engaged in the local business and community landscape.
-
Committed to quality, compliance, and delivering strong outcomes.
-
A full driver's licence and the ability to meet employment screening requirements.
We're looking for someone to join us in a meaningful, community-focused role where you'll have plenty of independence and purpose. Salary is aligned with experience and a vehicle allowance is provided.
Be part of a collaborative and supportive team that's passionate about growing participation in life-changing apprenticeship and traineeship programs. More than just a job, this is a chance to help shape lives and contribute to Victoria's skilled future. If that sounds like your kind of work, let's talk.
At NextGen Jobs, our mission is to empower individuals to thrive in the jobs of the future, today. We are committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all voices are valued and respected in the journey towards a skilled and sustainable workforce.
